Yesterday I was at Lunardi’s Market in Walnut Creek checking on turkeys when I came across these amazing poorboys. Unfortunately the picture I snapped with my cellphone doesn’t do them justice. While costing about the the same ($3.99), these poorboys put the ones at Safeway ($2.99-$4.99) to shame. Each half stood over 5 inches tall, 3 of which were made-up of densely packed meat and cheese. Each sandwich included lettuce, tomato, and red onion, as well as a a packet of mayo and packet of mustard. Obviously these sandwichs don’t compare to a freshly made deli sandwich. However, based on the one I ate, I would find them more than suitable in a pinch.
