19 hours and counting

It’s been almost a year since the parents got the Sonos. Since then, a lot of music has been ripped. At last count, over three hundred albums . This represents a lot of work, especially when considering the addition of album covers and all the database normalization. As a result, backup is a necessity.

At about 9pm last night I set the “server” to copy the FLAC files to a backup drive. Nineteen hours later, it is only about three quarters of the way there. Granted, I’d much rather occasionally check-in on the copying of 90 gigs of data than re-create all that work. Ironically, after discovering Radio Paradise, we hardly listen to any of the music off those CDs which now sit lifelessly in the closet.
