Root for the home team
For months Chris and I have talked about going to a Rivercats game. Friday night we made it happen. After two and half hours in the car, and then another thirty or so of walking and bus we arrived at the stadium. We picked up our tickets at will call, and headed in. Once inside we got Bob Geren Bobbleheads, a bbq dinner, and two beers for the price of our admission (food and drink tickets pictured above). The bbq dinner included sides of baked beans and potato salad, as well as an excellent tri-tip sandwich. Then there was the decent game of baseball (the Rivercats won 4-1) and over the top crowd motivation which included the firing of hot dogs out of a hot dog shaped air gun (sort of pictured below).
Overall it was a great night out. In fact, I think that I almost like minor league ball better than the big leagues. You can’t really go wrong with smaller stadiums and lower ticket prices (excluding $2 Wednesday A’s games). Go Rivercats!
