They’re everywhere. Red envelopes. Nearly every time I’m out walking in The City, I see one. It’s like a cup of Starbucks or a cell phone, something to hold out as a sign saying to everyone “I’ve made it.”

Don’t get me wrong, I truly enjoy Netflix. The selection, the price, the speed…opening the mailbox is fun again. However what’s going to happen when the telecoms finally get their act together and provide enough bandwidth to stream whatever we want to watch. Is the post office going to fold? Or will it continue to survive on its diet of junk mail and occasional celebratory cards?

Until then, I’ll enjoy my walks to the mailbox to return my movies to the “Nearest Netflix Shipping Facility.”
