How to save $1,000
Alley Garbage - by Law, originally uploaded by swanksalot.
While shopping for some thank you cards at a great little shop (that will remain nameless), a garbage man came in.
He asks the woman behind the counter “Are those your boxes out front?” She responds that they are. He then says that she shouldn’t pile them up on the street like that because she could get fined by the City for illegal dumping.
She explains that because of the street work she can’t put them out the way she normally does. He says no problem, “just wanted to warn you so that you don’t get a $1,000 fine.” He proceeds to tell her that he comes by everyday and he’ll help her bring them out. Or, if she really wants to leave them out on the curb, just make sure to cut the addresses off of the boxes so that if the City does see them, they won’t know whose they are.
